About the Department

The Department of Mathematics established in 1981, is a core academic unit of Vasavi college of engineering, providing a strong mathematical foundation to all engineering programmes. The department emphasizes analytical thinking, logical reasoning and problemsolving skills, essential for engineering education, research and professional practice,. The department of mathematics offers stream based open electives namely Number theory and Boolean algebra, Advanced probability and statistics, Algebraic structures, Numerical methods for the effective blend of mathematical theory with engineering applications. Also offers customized mathematical courses to the students pertaining to their core branch.

With a strong focus on research and innovations, the department actively engages in advanced areas of mathematics, computational methods, statistics and datadriven modeling. Through sustained research activities, collaborative initiatives and academic excellence. The department of mathematics continues to be a vital pillar supporting the institution's teaching and research eco system.

Objectives of ICACMSDS -2026

To provide a global platform for researchers, academicians, and professionals to present innovative research and exchange ideas in Computational Mathematics, Statistics, and Data Science.
To promote interdisciplinary collaboration between mathematics and fields such as Engineering, Technology, and the Sciences to address real-world challenges.
