Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering
Established in 1981, the Department offers a 4-Year B.E. Degree and a 2-Year M.E. Post Graduate Programme in:
- Electronics and Communication Engineering [B.E], with an annual intake of 120 students.
- Embedded Systems & VLSI Design [M.E], with an annual intake of 18 students.
- Communications & Signal Processing [M.E], with an annual intake of 18 students.
"To inculcate a spirit of scientific temper and analytical thinking, and train the students in contemporary technologies in Electronics & Communication to meet the needs of the industry."

The Department is equipped with 12 labs, 4 advanced labs, departmental computer centre, departmental library, classrooms with modern teaching aids and staff rooms.
The laboratories include the Basic Electronics Lab, Analog Electronic Circuits, Digital & Integrated Circuits Labs, Communication, Fibre Optic & Microwave Engineering Labs, Signal Processing & Controls Lab, and Microprocessor, Interfaces & Projects Lab.
The advanced labs include: VLSI Design Centre (PPVITSER) established jointly with PortalPlayer Private Limited, Advanced Data Communications & Computer Network Lab established under CISCO Local Academy programme, Digital Signal Processing Lab, and Embedded Systems Lab.
The academic performance of the students has been consistently outstanding, among the affiliate colleges. The average pass percentage of the students is 92.54. On an average, 50% of the students go abroad for pursuing their higher studies. There has been a steady increase in the number of students placed through campus recruitment in reputed organisations - Mahindra Satyam, L & T, Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services [TCS], and CMC etc.
The Department has forged purposeful linkages with the industry. The College has signed MoUs with four IT-related companies namely: PortalPlayer Pvt. Ltd., Qualcore Logic Ltd., Orillion India Software Pvt. Ltd., and Vantel Technologies Ltd. for student training, student projects, faculty visits, expert lectures, and for collaboration in research and development in emerging technologies.

Engineering Graduates will be able to:
