Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Established in the year 1999, the Department offers a 4-year B.E. Degree Programme and a 2-Year M.E. Post Graduate Programme in:
- Electrical & Electronics Engineering, with an annual intake of 60 students.
- Power Systems and Power Electronics, with an annual intake of 24 students.

Spread over an area of 1,000 Sq. Mts, the Department is equipped with 6 labs, departmental library, classrooms with modern teaching aids and staff rooms. Comprehensive and contemporary Electrical Machinery Labs, Power Electronics Lab, circuits and measurements lab, the Control Systems Lab, Power Systems Lab, computer simulation lab, and centralized microprocessors and Digital Signal Processing Lab [DSP], Linear integrated circuits Lab and additionally for value added courses centralized VLSI, CISCO and Embedded systems labs are being established.
Program Educational Objectives (PEO’s)
PEO 1: Electrical Engineering Graduates will acquire technical competence to analyze, design and solve engineering problems in the field of electrical engineering and use modern engineering tools, techniques and software.
PEO 2: Graduates will be able to acquire necessary skills and obtain employment and will be productive in the professional practice of Electrical Engineering and related fields.
PEO 3: Graduates will be sensitive to professional and social contexts, committed to ethical action and engaged in lifelong learning skills demonstrated by higher education / higher degrees and professional development activities.
Program Specific Objectives (PSO’s)
- Analyze and design power systems and Electrical machines and apply to future scope of power networks.
- Analyze and design electrical and power electronic circuits.
- Use modern software tools and techniques related to electrical engineering.
The Department has useful linkages with such renowned organisations as Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Power Grid, and Central Power Research Institute (CPRI). The Department has an IE(I) and IEEE Students Chapter to facilitate effective interaction with the industry and academia through seminars, workshops, expert lectures, etc. Every year students are sent to different industries for summer internship.
