About the Department

Department of Chemistry was established in 1981 presently headed by Dr. P. Venugopal. Now, the department has 5 experienced faculty members and all of them are doctorates. The faculty members are publishing research papers in International, National journals and Conferences regularly. One UGC sponsored minor project has been completed. The department is organizing regularly FDPs, Workshops/Conferences to update the knowledge of faculty. All the faculty members are pursuing NPTEL courses regularly.

The department is spread in an area of 398 Sq. Meters including well-equipped laboratories. The laboratories are spacious, well-ventilated, and furnished with instruments including UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Colorimeters, pH meters, conductivity meters, potentiometers, de-ionizer unit, electronic balances, and other essential laboratory equipment, enabling students to develop the practical skills in chemistry.

The department is offering branch specific syllabus to cater the needs of engineering departments and also arranging guest lectures to the students to familiarize with latest advancements in science & technology.
