- Day – 2 & Day – 3 : 24 Hours Non – stop Hackathon
Vasavi College of Engineering was chosen a nodal centre to host ‘IoT hackathon-2017’ by CISCO Academy Support Centre, Trident Group of Institutions. The hackathon was organised by Trident Group of Institutions in association with CISCO.
The event was conducted from 8th to 10th June 2017. On the first day, a workshop was conducted by experts from CISCO giving the participants a detailed overview on IoT(Internet of Things). The 24 hours hackathon began on the second day at 9 AM. A total of 22 teams of 5 members each, whose ideas got selected, took part in the 24 hours hackathon. The teams were judged by a jury of 5 members comprising of experts from industry and eminent professors, over three rounds within those 24 hours. At the end of the 24 hours, 8 teams were short listed to give presentations about their ideas after which 3 teams were given awards, two from Vasavi College of Engineering and one from Spoorthy Engineering College. And these 3 teams would be participating in the final hackathon to be conducted in the month of July.
Valedictory FunctionMr C G Kiran Kumar, vice president, Ctrl S data Centers was the chief guest for the occasion. Dr E Sreenivas Rao, Professor, vasavi college of engineering, presided over the function. Mr Ananth,Technical Manager, Cisco systems,and Dr K Ram Mohan Rao graced the function. Mr Subhajith, head, Academy support center organized the event and Mr Jithender Reddy was the single point ofcontact for the event.
